Ledger Hockey Drops Opener To U-School

The St. Mary’s Springs hockey team dropped a 5-3 season
opening decision to Milwaukee University School
on Tuesday night at the Blue
Line Family
Ice Center
.  U-School jumped on the Ledgers early scoring
4 goals in a five minute span to grab a 4-1 lead at the end of the first
period.  Brady Sarauer scored the lone
Ledger 1st period goal on the power play with 7:58 left in the
opening 17 minutes.  Sarauer made it 4-2
with a goal with 10:15 left in the 2nd period.  U-School added a goal later in the period to
take a 5-2 lead into the 3rd period. 
Sophomore Johnny Welsch added a goal with 5:44 left in the 3rd
to cut the Wild Cat lead to two goals but the Ledgers could get no closer. Five different U-School players scored in the game. Conner Blank added a pair of assisters for
the Ledgers in the loss.  St. Mary’s Springs (0-1) will have a week to practice
before the head to Fox Cities next Tuesday.
