St. Mary’s Springs escaped Winnebago Lutheran with an exciting 53-48 road win against their cross-town rival on Friday night in boys high school action. Down 17 in the fourth quarter, WLA went on a 19-0 run to take a 48-46 lead. St. Mary’s Springs countered by scoring the games final 7 points to secure the win. Evan Henderson had 13 and David Joslyn 10 to pace SMSA. Mitch McFarlane had 13 and Ben Wolff 10 for WLA. St. Mary’s Springs improves to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the Flway. WLA drops to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in league play. St. Mary’s Springs will travel to Chilton for a non-conference game on Monday night while WLA travels to North Fond du Lac on Thursday.
