Ledgers Eye 12th State Crown

St. Mary’s Springs will take on Eau Claire Regis this afternoon at 1pm in the WIAA Division Six State Championship Game at Madison’s Camp Randall Stadium.  The Ledgers are appearing in their 4th straight state title game.  They beat Shiocton last season for the title 24-0.  The Ledgers were runner-up to Edger in 2010 in D6 and won the Division 5 title with a win against Arcadia in 2009.  St. Mary’s Springs also won the Division 6 title back in 2002.  They were also state runner-ups in 2003 and 2005 in D6.   Bob Hyland’s teams also won WISAA crowns in 1983, 1984, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 1999.  Regis is in the WIAA Finals for the 4th time.  They won the Division 7 title in 2003 and were runners-up in 2002 and 2009.  They also won WISAA titles in 1992, 1993, and 1999.  Coverage begins on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com at 12:05pm with the Backyard Grill Pregame Show.  The kickoff is set for 1pm.  KFIZ’s Wade Bates and Scot Frassetto will have the call.
