Ledgers Power By Appleton

St. Mary’s Springs bounced back from their shootout loss to Fond du Lac on Friday night with a 4-2 win over #1 seed Appleton United at the Badgerland Conference Hockey Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the Blue Line Family Ice Center. After a scoreless first period, the Legers fell behind 1-0. Anthony Grebe’s power play goal evened it up at one for a short bit before Appleton took a 2-1 lead heading into the 3rd period. The 3rd period was all Ledgers as they tied the score on a goal by Conner Blank during a two-man advantage. Seconds later Sean Ahern gave the Ledgers the lead with a regular power play goal. SMSA then put it way a couple of minutes later when Ahern scored another power play goal. The win improves the Ledgers to 13-7-2 on the season.
