Ledgers Roll By Algoma In Playoff Opener
St. Mary’s Springs began defense of their Division Six State Championship with a 63-6 playoff opening win over Algoma on Friday night at Fruth Field. Ledger junior Ike Floyd returned the opening kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown to open the game and the route was on. Floyd rushed for four more TDs in the game giving him a total of five scores on the night. Darin Ward, Mitch Herron and Jacob Frey also ran for touchdowns in the win. St. Mary’s Springs improves to 9-0 on the season and they will play Manawa in the 2nd round of the playoffs next weekend. You’ll hear the game on KFIZ.
