Baseball’s one game Wild Card round is today.  In the National League the Atlanta Braves will host the St. Louis Cardinals late this afternoon.  In the American League, Texas host Baltimore tonight.  The winners advance to the Division Series.

With the Brewers late run at the Wild Card, GM Doug Melvin thinks the team only needs a few pieces in 2013 to be a contender again.  He says he hopes to find a veteran starter to compliment his stable of young arms in the starting rotation.  Melvin also says that Corey Hart will remain the first baseman in 2013.

The Boston Red Sox have fired manager Bobby Valentine after just one season on the job after the team went 69-93. Their worst season in almost 50 years.
