Maratik To Walk-On at SDSU

Fond du Lac High School senior Justin Maratik has committed to walking on to play college football at NCAA Division One FCS South Dakota State.  Maratik committed to the Jackrabbits after an official visit this past weekend.  As a senior Maratik rushed for 1735 yards and 25 TDs.  He garnered Honorable Mention All-State mention and was a 1st Team All-Valley Football Association running back.  He is Fond du Lac High School’s all-time leader in rushing yards and total yards.  He also holds school records for most points in a game, most TDs in a game and most points in a season.  He also had an offer to walk on at FCS National Champion North Dakota State and scholarship offers from numerous NCAA Division Two schools.  Maratik says that South Dakota State’s family atmosphere was the big reason he decided to continue his career in Brookings, South Dakota.  Kimberly All-State running back Blair Mullholland also has verbally committed to playing football for SDSU on a scholarship.  Between the two of them they rushed over 10,000 yards in their high school careers.   Maratik tells KFIZ that the plan is for him to play safety at SDSU.
