Packers Take Clinton-Dix

The Green Bay Packers have selected 6’1, 208 pound Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix with the 21st overall pick in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. He started 20 of 38 games with the Tide, intercepting 7 passes and also deflecting 10 other throws. He recorded 100 tackles (58 solo) and four behind the line of scrimmage.  He was a 1st Team All-American by Football Writers Association and Sporting News and 1st Team All-SEC Pick.  Packers GM  Ted Thompson says that Dix is an all-purpose safety that can cover in the slot, a physical player, can support and can play well in the back end.   He says he’s got good ball skills.  Thompson added Dix was the best player on the board when they picked and also filled a need.  Dix says he had a very relaxed meeting with the Packers at the scouting combine.  He was given the nickname “Ha Ha” when he was a child.  He will wear #21.
