Polar Bears Steal Win From Fondy Boys

The Fond du Lac
boys basketball team played with great energy on Tuesday night but fell to
Hortonville 65-59 at the Acuity Fieldhouse.
After trailing 27-26 at the half, Fondy scored the first 8 points of the
3rd quarter on back to back three pointers by Sam Fredrickson and
Marcus Ruch and a layup by Jake Walgenbach.
The Cardinals eventually built a 10 point lead before the Polar Bears
began to chip away.  They cut the Fondy
lead to five points at the end of the 3rd at 47-42 and outscored
them 23-12 in the final frame to steal the road win.  Hortonville made 12 of 14 free throws in the
4th quarter to hang on to the victory.  Walgenbach led Fond du Lac with 13.  Ruch, Fredrickson, and Caleb Goldstein each
added 10 in the loss.  Hortonville’s Kyle
Hitthuhn led all scorers with 14.   Fondy (2-10, 1-7) will host Kimberly on Friday
night at the Acuity Fieldhouse.  You’ll
