Tom Clements is leaving the Green Bay Packers following 11 seasons as one of coach Mike McCarthy's top offensive assistants.

McCarthy said that Clements' contract had expired, and that he was moving on to other interests. He thanked Clements for what he called an "incredible 11 years" with Green Bay. Clements spent the past two seasons as the associate head coach/offense. McCarthy handed Clements play-calling duties before the 2015 season, then took play-calling back at midseason with offensive production down following the knee injury that season to receiver Jordy Nelson.

Clements also spent three seasons as offensive coordinator and six as the quarterbacks coach, having played an instrumental role in the development of Aaron Rodgers.

The Milwaukee Brewers announced the 2017 coaching staffs of their minor league teams on Thursday. Included in those announcements was that Matt Erickson will return as manager of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. It will be Erickson’s seventh season as manager for the Rattlers, making him the longest-serving manager in the history of Appleton Professional Baseball. Erickson began his career as hitting coach for the Timber Rattlers in 2009, and led the team to the playoffs for the third time in six seasons last year.

The Brewers also announced that Rick Sweet will return to manage Triple-A Colorado Springs, Mike Guerrero will lead the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers and Joe Ayrault will head the new Brewers Single-A affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats. Carolina takes over as the “High-A” affiliate from Brevard County this year.

Tiger Woods had a rough return to the PGA Tour at the Farmers Insurance Open, his first PGA Tour event 17 months. Woods fell apart on the back nine of the South course at Torrey Pines, dropping six shots in a six-hole stretch and finished with a birdie for a 4-over 76. He is 11 shots back of first-round leader Justin Rose
