High School Softball:

 

WIAA Division 3 Sectional Final:

 

Laconia 9, Random Lake 0

 

–Peyton Kastenschmidt clubbed a three run home run and Spartans pitcher Kayla Schwebke tosses a two hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in the win for the Spartans to advance to state for the fourth year in a row.

 

Laconia will face Bloomer in the state semifinals next Friday morning at 10:00 am at Goodman Diamond in Madison. Bloomer defeated Northwestern 11-3 to advance to state.

 

High School Baseball:

 

WIAA Division 1 Regional Final:

 

Fond du Lac 8, Watertown 2

–The Cardinals advance to a sectional semifinal matchup against Sun Prairie on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 10am.

–Eric Gilgenbach blasted a two run home run in the fourth inning and starter Connor Johnson tossed six scoreless innings as the Dock Spiders won their home opener at Herr Baker Field to move to 2-1 on the season. Fond du Lac travels to Wisconsin Rapids tonight for game two of the series, first pitch is 6:35 pm.

–Hernan Perez went 3 for 4 with a double and Chase Anderson allowed just three hits in seven strong innings of work on the mound for the Brewers as they split the four game series with the Mets. The Brewers return home for a three game weekend series against the LA Dodgers tonight. Coverage begins at 6:35 on KFIZ.

The Packers signed two players and released one on Thursday, inking a pair of rookies out of BYU. Fourth round pick, Running Back Jamaal Williams signed his rookie deal yesterday while former BYU teammate, Wide Receiver Colby Pearson signed an undrafted free-agent contract. Meanwhile the Packers released punter Jacob Schum after just one season in Green Bay.

 

NBA Finals (Game 1):

–Kevin Durant scored 38 points, Steph Curry added 28 as the Warriors took game one of the NBA Finals. Lebron James scored 28 for the Cavs in the loss. Game two is Sunday.
