–Andrew Bullock went 2 for 5 with a double as the Dock Spiders held on to beat Kenosha Thursday night at Herr Baker Field. The two teams meet again tonight, first pitch is 6:35 pm.

–Brett Hundley threw for 90 yards and a touchdown to Jeff Janis and Trevor Davis returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown as the Packers won their preseason opener against Philadelphia at Lambeau Field Thursday night. Rookie Taysom Hill also tossed a touchdown late to Michael Clark. Hill and former BYU teammate Jamaal Williams led the team in rushing with 14 yards each. The Packers travel to Washington for their next preseason game next Saturday.

–A 14 point third quarter led the Vikings to a win over the Bills in their preseason opener.

Denver 24, Chicago 17

–Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for 166 yards and a touchdown in the loss for Chicago.

Minnesota 7, Milwaukee 2

–Byron Buxton and Joe Mauer each collected three hits as the Twins completed the four-game sweep of the Brewers in the series finale at Miller Park Thursday night. Keon Broxton homered and Travis Shaw doubled in the loss for the Brewers. Zach Davies took the loss on the mound, giving up seven runs on 11 hits while striking out just three batters. With the loss Milwaukee drops into 3rd place in the NL Central, a game behind St. Louis in second place and now three games behind first place Chicago. The Brewers welcome Cincinnati to town tonight to begin a weekend series, Jimmy Nelson goes for Milwaukee while the Reds send Homer Bailey to the mound. College Football:  Badgers senior linebacker Jack Cichy is out for the season with a torn ACL. Head coach Paul Chryst says Cichy suffered the injury during practice on Tuesday and is scheduled to have surgery today. Cichy played in only seven games last year due to injury, but still totaled 60 tackles, seven tackles for loss and one and a half sacks. He was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention last season.

NBA: The Bucks announced they will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in their home opener Friday, October 20th. The game will be televised by ESPN as part of their NBA Opening Week schedule. The full Bucks schedule for the upcoming season will be released at a later date.
