Pirates Rout Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers headed into the 7th inning tied with the Pittsburgh Pirates with two runs a piece on Thursday night at PNC Park, but a collapse from the Brewers bullpen gave this win easily to the Bucs by an 11-2 final. Rob Wooten was charged with three runs on three hits for 1/3 inning of work in the 7th, while Wei-Chung Wang had a night he’ll want to quickly forget giving up six runs on six hits in the eight. The bullpen washed away a decent performance from starter Yovani Gallardo, who went six deep giving up just two runs, both which came off the bat of an Andrew McCutcheon home run in the first inning. Jonathan Lucroy and Aramis Ramirez earned an RBI each for the Crew who fall to 11-5 on the season, now just one game up on the Cardinals for the NL Central lead.

The teams will be at it again tonight with a 6:05pm first pitch. Kyle Lohse is on the hill for Milwaukee while Charlie Morton will take the bump for the Pirates. Coverage starts at 5:30 on NewsTalk 1450 KFIZ.

Bucks Sale a Bargain?

Much was made about the $550 million price tag that Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry have agreed to pay Senator Herb Kohl to take over ownership of the Milwaukee Bucks, especially since the franchise was valued at a lower $405 million by Forbes in January. But Dallas Mavericks owner tells ESPNDallas.com that he thinks the new owners got a bargain. “I think they got off cheap,” Cuban said. “I think that was a bargain. I think it’s worth a lot more. I think it’s worth a lot more than that. I think someone got a bargain. You can’t look backwards. You’ve got to look forward. You don’t value teams based off what happened in the past.”

While the Bucks sale is not officially final, there are no indications the deal won’t be approved by the NBA and it’s board of governors.

Meanwhile, Duke freshman Jabari Parker, a potential target of the Milwaukee Bucks, has declared for the NBA Draft.
