Dustin Johnson fired a six
under par 66 to take a one shot lead into round 2 of the PGA Championship at
Whistling Straits.  Johnson had five
birdies and an eagle with just one bogey to lead David Lingmerth by one shot.  Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy both were
one-under par for their 1st rounds.  
Tiger Woods had a 3-over par 75.  Wisconsin native Steve Stricker was -1 on his day.

 

The Packers picked up a 22-11
win at New England in their preseason opener
on Thursday night.  Aaron Rodgers
completed 11 of 19 passes for 117 yards. 
Scott Tolzein and Brett Hundley threw TD passes for the Pack.  Tolzein’s went to Jeff Janis and Hundley’s to
John Crockett.  Eddie Lacy ran for 36
yards.  Undrafted rookie free agent
Ladarius Gunter continued to impress with an interception.  The Packers will travel to Pittsburgh on Sunday, August 23rd.
That game will kickoff at Noon on KFIZ.

 

The Badger football team
announced a home and home series with Syracuse.  UW will host the Orange
in 2020 and go to Syracuse
in 2021.  The Badgers also added home
games against New Mexico in 2018, and Central
Michigan and North Texas in 2019.

 

The Cubs hit five home runs
and got out the brooms to sweep away the Brewers with an 8-2 win.   Kyle Schwarber knocked out a pair of round
trippers.  Chicago hit three homers in the 5th.  Tyler Cravy took the loss for Milwaukee.  The Phillies come to town to open up a three
game weekend series tonight.  Coverage

The high school football
season opens up next week and we’ll have a pair of games on KFIZ.  On Thursday night, St. Mary’s Springs heads
to Shiocton.  Then on Friday night, Fond du Lac opens up on
the road at Appleton East.
