The Packers are getting
ready to kick off the preseason on Saturday night when they travel to Nashville for a matchup
with the Tennessee Titans.  You’ll see
mostly young players fighting for spots on the back half of the roster in the
opener.  Coverage begins at 5pm with the kickoff
at 7pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Gary Andersen’s Wisconsin
Badger football team will have an open scrimmage at Camp Randall Stadium on
Sunday.  Its free to attend and will
start about 11am and run to 12:45pm.

 

The Brewers kept their one
game lead in the National League Central with a 3-1 win over the Giants at Miller Park
on Thursday afternoon.  Wily Peralta
picked up his 14th win of the season.  That’s tied for most in the league with Adam
Wainwright of St. Louis.  The Dodgers come to town for a three game
weekend series starting tonight.  Kyle
Lohse takes on Roberto Hernandez.

Lee Westwood, Kevin Chapell
and Ryan Palmer shot six-under-par 65s to hold the first round lead at the PGA
Championship at Valhalla.  Five golfers including Jim Furyk and Rory
McIlroy are one shot back.  Madison’s Jerry Kelly is
at -4 while Steve Stricker and Phil Mickelson are at  -2.  Tiger
Woods is tied for 109th at +3.  Weather may prevent them from completing the 2nd
round today.
