Packers vs. Cards
The Packers open the preseason tonight as they host the Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field. The starters won’t play very much tonight, maybe just a series or two. Rookie running back Eddie Lacy may not play because of a hamstring injury. Head coach Mike McCarthy says that he would like to get quarterback Vince Young in at sometime despite him having just three practices under his belt. Coverage begins at 5pm with the kickoff at 7pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com.
The Badgers Athletic Department confirmed on Thursday that they will open the 2016 against LSU at Lambeau Field. To get the deal done, they had to move the Virginia Tech series back to the 2019 and 2020 seasons. With the deal done, UW will open the 2014 season against LSU in Houston, 2015 vs. Alabama in Dallas, and then LSU at Lambeau in 2016.
The Giants shut down the Brewers 4-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Giants scored 3 runs in the 1st and 1 more in the 2nd and that was enough for Tim Lincecum who gave up just 1 hit and two base runners in 8 innings of work to pick up the win. Donovan Hand took the loss for the Brewers. Jean Segura knocked in the Brewers only run in the 9th. The Brewers open a series in Seattle tonight.
Weeks to DL
The Brewers put 2B Rickie Weeks on the 15 day disabled list with a hamstring injury on Thursday and recalled Scooter Gennett.

Jim Furyk and Adam Scott fired 5-under par 65s to take a one shot lead at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Dave Hearn and Lee Westwood are one shot back. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are both one-over par.
Diener Leaves Hamilton
Fond du Lac native Tom Diener, one of the most successful high school basketball coaches in Wisconsin history has decided to leave Milwaukee Hamilton High School and take the head coaching job at Cedarburg. Diener won five state titles at Milwaukee Vincent between 1996 and 2001. In 2010 and 2011 he took Hamilton to state.
