The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association will hold their annual All-Star Games on Saturday at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.   Fond du Lac High School graduates Jake Walgenbach and Justin Maratik will be playing in the Large School North Squad.  Fondy head coach Mike Gnewuch and assistant Steve Jorgensen are on the North coaching staff.   New Holstein’s Tyler Stadler is playing on the North squad in the Small School Game. Oakfield’s Ross Ellison and Tyler Burbach are on the South Team in the 8-man game.  Oaks coach Corey Rickert is on the South Team’s staff.   The 8-man game is set for  10am on Saturday.  The Small School Game is at 2pm with the Large School Game at 6pm.


The Fond du Lac U17 American Legion Post 75 baseball team is one win away from the State Tournament.  Post 75 hammered Oshkosh North 15-5 in 5 innings on Thursday in the Regional Semifinals in Sheboygan.   Post 75 will play today at 11am in Sheboygan for a Regional Championship. The Post 75 U19 team lost to Neenah 2-1 last night.  Their regional begins on Wednesday.


The Brewers begin the second half of the regular season tonight with a series in Cincinnati. Milwaukee sits at 38-49, good for fourth place in the N-L Central, while the Reds are in the cellar in the central with a 32-57 record. Matt Garza takes the hill for the crew tonight, he’s 1-2, while Cincinnati counters with Anthony DeSclafani, he’s 3-0 on the season. The Wisconsin TImber Rattlers fell 3-1 to the Bowling Green Hot Rods Thursday, falling short in a ninth inning rally. The final game in the series is tonight in Bowling Green, Kentucky.


The Bucks will continue summer league tournament play in Las Vegas later today. They will play Houston in the consolation round this evening at 5:30. That’s after an 81-64 loss to Dallas in the first round of tournament play on Wednesday.


In Golf, the British Open continues at Royal Troon in Scotland. Phil Mickelson retains his lead, as of early this morning he was at minus 11. Edgerton’s Steve Stricker is in a tie for seventh at minus four, while Jordan Niebrugge of Mequon is at plus-six.
