Khris Davis,
Carlos Gomez and Jonathan Lucroy homered as the Brewers stopped the Twins 8-5
on Thursday night.  Lucroy’s two-run
blast in the 9th put the game away for The Crew. Wily Peralta gave
up four runs in five innings to even his record at 5-5 on the season.  The Brewers open up a weekend series in Pittsburgh tonight.  Coverage begins at 5:30pm on KFIZ.   The Brewers lead St. Louis in the NL Central by 5 games.

The Brewers selected left handed pitcher
Kodi Mediros a high school pitcher from Hawaii
with their first round pick, the 12th overall on Thursday
night.  He is 6’2, 196 pounds and was 7-1
with a 0.97 ERA in 43+ innings this year. 
He struck out 83 batters, walked just 15 and can hit 97 mph on the radar
gun.  With the 41st pick they
took California high school shortstop Jacob
Gatewood and with the 50th selection Missouri high school outfielder Monte
Harrison was choice.  He’s committed to
play football and baseball at Nebraska.

 

The San Antonio
Spurs won Game 1 of the NBA Finals 110-95 over the Miami Heat.  The air conditioning went out early in the
game causing the arena to heat up to over 90 degrees.  The referees decided to continue the
game.  LeBron James went out in the 4th
quarter with cramps and the Spurs went on a 16-3 run in his absence.  Tim Duncan had 21 points and 10 rebound.  Manu Ginobli chipped in 16 points and 11
assists.  James finished with 25 points
in only 33 minutes of action.  Game 2 is
Sunday night in San Antonio

 

The NHL playoffs
are off until Saturday night when the LA Kings host the New York Rangers in
game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.  The
Kings lead the series 1-0.

 

California
Chrome is making his final preparations for the Belmont Stakes on
Saturday.  He is looking to be the first
horse to win the Triple Crown in 36 years. 

 

Fond du Lac had a singles and doubles team competing
at day 1 of the WIAA State Tennis Tournament in Madison on Thursday.  In D1 singles, Fond du Lac Kenan Saleh lost his opening
match to Iram Turrubiartes of Sun Prairie 6-3, 6-4.  Saleh’s season ends at 14-5.  Fondy’s doubles team of Stuart Nett and Matt
Riley defeated Billy Kavanagh and Nate Beyer of Whitefish Bay
6-1, 6-3 to advance to Friday’s second round. 
They will face off against Ben Wait and Eric Stodola of Germantown at 9am.
