Laconia Downs Ledgers

The Laconia Spartans were looking for their 25th win of the season on Thursday night at the Acuity Fieldhouse in Fond du Lac, but to get it they had to beat St. Mary’s Springs for the third time in just under two months. And thanks to Tyler Semenas and Nick Vollmer, the Spartans were able to improve to a 25-0 record by beating the Ledgers 75-56 in a WIAA Division 4 Sectional Semifinal.

It was Springs that looked to be in control of this game early, but Laconia stayed patient and eventually took a seven point lead into halftime. The hole proved to be too difficult for Springs to overcome, as 26 points from Semenas and 22 from Vollmer helped lead the Spartans to a 75-56 victory.  Evan Henderson lead the Ledgers with 16 points.

Laconia will move on to play Domican (21-4) on Saturday at 1pm at Brookfield Central High School. Tickets for the game can be purchased at Laconia High School throughout the school day on Friday as well as Saturday morning.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ presented by the Rosendale Dairy.
