The Wisconsin men’s basketball team breezed into the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament with a 69-52 thumping of Baylor.  Wisconsin sliced up the highly touted Bears zone defense and made it look easy. Frank Kaminsky led the way 19 points and six blocks.  Ben Brust added 14 and Nigel Hayes 10.  Wisconsin will face #1 seed Arizona in the West Regional Final on Saturday night.  The Wildcats rallied to stop San Diego State 70-64.  The tip is set for 7:49pm on Saturday night.  Coverage begins at 6:30pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Marquette interim Athletic Director Bill Cords announced on Thursday that he was staying on for another year and he’s confident the school will find a top notch coach to replace Buzz Williams.  ESPN reported on Thursday that VCU’s Shaka Smart actually called the school yesterday to tell them he’s not interested in the job.


The Bucks beat the Lakers 108-105 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Brandon Knight had 30 as Milwaukee snaps an 8 game losing streak.  The Heat come to town on Saturday night.


The Badger men’s hockey team opens up NCAA Tournament play tonight as they take on North Dakota in CincinnatiWisconsin is the #1 seed in their Regional.


The Reds beat the Brewers 8-2 in their Cactus League finale on Thursday afternoon. Kyle Lohse gave up 2 runs and 5 hits in five innings of work.    The Brewers will play a two game exhibition series with the Royals beginning tonight at Miller Park.  Coverage tonight begins at 7pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.   Saturday’s game gets under way at 1pm on KFIZ.  The regular season opener is Monday afternoon at Miller Park against the Braves.   


The Detroit Tigers have inked two-time MVP Migel Cabrera to a 10-year, $292 million dollar contract extension.


Fondy Boys took 13th out of 23 teams at the Stevens Point Invite.
