Back To Back Champs!

St. Mary’s Springs won their 2nd straight WIAA Division Six state football championship with a 24-14 win over Eau Claire Regis on Thursday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium. Senior Even Henderson ran for the team’s first score of the game and then threw 2nd quarter TD passes to Eric Feldner and Ryan Grandlic.  Mitch Herron closed out the scoring with a 24 yard field goal in the 4th quarter.  The Ledger defense set an all division’s state finals record holding Regis to minus-nine yards passing for the day.  The win gives St. Mary’s Springs their 4th WIAA state football title, and their 12th overall if you add in their 8 WISAA crowns.  St. Mary’s Springs finishes the season with a perfect 13-0 record.
