Benson’s Season Over

Packers coach Mike McCarthy announced on Thursday that running back Cedric Benson’s season is over.  Benson had surgery to help repair his broken foot ending his year.  Benson had 248 yards on 71 carries before getting hurt in early October.  That leaves Green Bay with James Stark and Alex Green as the only healthy tailbacks.  The Packers host the Vikings on Sunday.  Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff set for Noon on KFIZ.

McMillian Fined

Packers rookie safety Jerron McMillian was fined $21,500 by the NFL for a hit on Giants tight end Marcellus Bennett on Sunday. Tight end Ryan Taylor was fined the same amount a few weeks ago for a block in the Arizona game on special teams that didn’t draw a flag.

Thursday Night Football

The Atlanta Falcons beat the New Orleans Saints 23-13 on Thursday Night Football.  Saints QB Drew Brees threw five interceptions and had his NFL record streak of throwing a TD pass in 54 straight games snapped.  The Falcons are now 11-1.  The Saints drop to 5-7.
