Justin Verlander took a no-hitter into the 7th as Detroit shutout Oakland 3-0 to advance to the American League Championship Series.  The Tigers will take on Boston on Saturday in Game 1 of the ALCS.  The National League Championship Series begins tonight at St. Louis hosts the Dodgers.

The Packers head to Baltimore this weekend for a cross-conference matchup with the Ravens.  You’ll hear all the action on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ. Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff set for Noon.  Sunday night, its Washington at Dallas.  With coverage begining at 6:30pm on KFIZ.

Badgers

The Badgers host Northwestern on Saturday at Camp Randall.  Coverage begins at 12:30pm with the kickoff at 2:30pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

High School Football

Fond du Lac football team heads to Menasha tonight.  Fondy needs to win tonight or at home against Wisconsin Rapids next week to qualify for the playoffs..  You’ll hear it tonight on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 5:30pm with the Backyard Grill Kickoff Show with the kickoff set for 7pm.  The game also streams at kfiz.com.  On Saturday, St. Mary’s Springs heads to Kettle Moraine Lutheran.  You can hear that game on K107.1-FM.  The kickoff is set for 1pm.  It’s presented by BCI Burke Company.

Feltz Earns State Bid

Fond du Lac’s Nicole Feltz has qualified for the state girls tennis tournament.  She won her first match and then withdrew from her final two matches because of a rib injury.  The 4th place finish still qualified her for Madison.  At #2 singles, Maddie Bahr went 1-1 and finished 4th.  The doubles team of Kellie Cole and Annie Hierl lost their opening match at yesterday’s sectional.

Fond du Lac 3 Neenah 0 – Aaron Wendels 7 kills, 7 digs, Matt Dilling 22 assists.

Fondy Cross Country

The Fond du Lac girls were 10th and the boys were 14th at Port Washington.  Megan Buechel was 4th and Annie Moore 7th for the girls.  The boys were led by Evan Loehr who was 60th.

C-Sport Cross Country

Campbellsport High School hosted the 43rd annual Cougar Invitational Cross Country Meet at Columbus Parc last night.  Winneconne won both the boys and girls races.  Campbellsport boys were runner-up to Winneconne missing first place by only two points (48 to 50)  Sam Candee led the Cougars finishing 4th individually.  Chase Lindgren was 7th and Casey Ruplinger was 8th. The Cougar girls were 10th.  The top runner for Campbellsport was Toni Hundertmark in 31st place.
