The Brewers avoided the sweep with a 5-3 win over St. Louis on Thursday night. Sean Halton hit a two run shot and drove in three on the night.  Tyler Thornburg went six strong innings to pick up the win.  Jim Henderson got save #25.  The Brewers open up their final ten game homestand of the season tonight as the Reds come to town for a weekend series. Kyle Lohse takes on Mat Latos.  Pittsburgh beat the Cubs last night 3-1 to pull even on top of the NL Central with St. Louis.

Thursday Night Football
New England 13 NY Jets 10

The Packers host Washington on Sunday at Lambeau Field.   Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff at Noon on KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com. 

The Badgers are in Tempe, Arizona as they get ready for their matchup with Arizona State Saturday night.  The kickoff is set for 9:30pm.  Youi’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Texas Tech 20 #24 TCU 10

Brandt Snedeker fired an 8 under par 63 to take a one shot lead over Zach Johnson at the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour.  Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker are among a group of players three shots off the lead at minus-five.

The Fond du Lac football team hosts Stevens Point tonight at Fruth Field.  Fondy is 0-3 on the season while Stevens Point is 2-1.  Both teams lost their conference openers last Friday night. Fondy fell to Marshfield while SPASH got beat by Menasha.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 5:30pm with the Backyard Grill Kickoff Show.  I’ll have the call tonight with Nick Van Knocker.  On Saturday night St. Mary’s Springs hosts Lomira at Fruth.  You’ll also hear that game on KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com.  Ledger football on KFIZ is presented by the BCI Burke Company.
