A five-run first inning helped the Arizona Diamondbacks earn an 8-1 win over the Brewers at Miller Park on Wednesday night. Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson was chased after four and ⅔ innings, giving up 8 runs on 9 hits. Arizona had 12 total hits in the contest and got two home runs from Left Fielder Yasmany Tomas. The final game of the series is this afternoon, with a 12:35 pregame on News/Talk 1450 KFIZ.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers dropped their third straight game as the Clinton LumberKings picked up an 8-3 victory Wednesday night at Ashford University Field in Clinton, Iowa. The Rattlers scored their lone run of the game in the second inning on Max McDowell’s first home run of the season. Game two of that series is tonight at Clinton.

The Packers enter their third day of training camp this morning, and will practice in pads for the first time. One of the rookies that have caught the eye of Head Coach Mike McCarthy is rookie Wide Receiver Trevor Davis of California, who says he is just trying to learn the system and adjust to the professional game. The team hits the field at 8:15 am.

After finishing fourth at the British Open, Madison’s Steve Stricker is hoping to play well at the PGA Championship, which starts today at Baltusrol. He says the key to success is to be accurate off the tee. Stricker tees off at 11:45 am today.
