NFL:

Minnesota 23, Green Bay 10

--The Packers lost much more than the game on Sunday at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone on a hit from Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr on a 3rd down pass on the Packers first drive of the game. The team said he may miss the rest of the season with the injury.


Backup Brett Hundley threw for 157 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted three times and sacked four times in the loss. Aaron Jones had 13 carries for 41 yards on the ground, while Jordy Nelson had six catches for 60 yards. Davante Adams scored the only touchdown of the game for the Packers, whose record falls to 4-2 on the year with the loss.


The Packers host New Orleans next Sunday. Kickoff is at Noon.


New Orleans 52, Detroit 38

--The Saints got two touchdown passes from Drew Brees and three defensive scores as they held off the Lions in a wild game in New Orleans. The Lions mounted another furious late-game rally after being down 45-10 midway through the third, but fell short in the end. Detroit is on a bye next week.


Chicago 27, Baltimore 24 (OT)

--Connor Barth’s 40 yard field goal with 2:11 left in overtime gave the Bears a win on the road against the Ravens in Baltimore. Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for 113 yards and a touchdown in the win. The Bears host Carolina next Sunday.


College Football:


The Badgers enter the top five in both national polls after their 17-9 win over Purdue on Saturday to move to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin moves up two spots to number five in the Associated Press Top 25, and moves up one spot to fifth in the USA Today Coaches Poll. In the AP Poll, Alabama remains at number one, with Penn State moving up to two, Georgia up to three and TCU in fourth before the Badgers in fifth. The second five consists of Ohio State, Clemson, Miami (FL), Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The Badgers host Maryland on Saturday, kickoff at 11am.

National League Championship Series:


LA Dodgers 4, Chicago Cubs 1

--Justin Turner’s walk-off three-run home run in the ninth gave the Dodgers a 2-0 series lead. Game three is Tuesday in Chicago.


Tonight, it’s game three of the American League Championship Series as Houston visits New York. The Astros hold a 2-0 series lead. First pitch is just after 7pm central time.
