NFL:

Green Bay 35, Dallas 31

–Aaron Rodgers’ 12 yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 11 seconds left capped a nine-play 75 yard drive to beat the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday. Trailing 21-6 with 6:10 left to play before halftime, the Packers battled back to take a 28-24 lead with 9:56 to play in the game on a pick-six from Damarious Randall. Dallas then capped off a 17-play, 79 yard drive with an 11 yard touchdown run from Dak Prescott with 1:13 to play before Rodgers worked his magic.

Rodgers threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns, two to Davante Adams, who led the team in receiving with 66 yards on seven catches. Rookie running back Aaron Jones carried the ball 19 times for 125 yards and a score in the win.

Green Bay travels to Minnesota next Sunday. Kickoff is set for Noon.

Carolina 27, Detroit 24

–Cam Newton threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns as the Panthers led 27-10 through three quarters, then held off a fourth quarter rally from the Lions to win at Ford Field in Detroit. Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes to Darren Fells in the fourth to pull Detroit within three, but they were unable to get the ball back again for an opportunity to tie or win the game. Detroit plays at New Orleans next Sunday.

Tonight on Monday Night Football, the Vikings visit the Bears. Coverage begins at 7pm after “In The Huddle” on KFIZ.

College Football:

The Badgers climbed two spots in both national polls this week after their 38-17 win on the road at Nebraska. Wisconsin moves up to seventh in the Associated Press Top 25 and is up to sixth in the USA Today Coaches Poll. In the AP Poll, Alabama and Clemson remain in the top two spots, with Penn State moving up to number three, Georgia up to fourth and Washington up to fifth. TCU is in sixth, with Wisconsin seventh, Washington State eighth, Ohio State ninth and Auburn 10th. The Badgers host Purdue on Saturday, kickoff is 2:30 pm.

Major League Baseball:

American League Division Series:

Boston 10, Houston 3

–Houston leads the series 2-1, game four is this afternoon in Boston. A win by Houston advances the Astros to the American League Championship series.

NY Yankees 1, Cleveland 0

–Cleveland leads the series 2-1, game four is tonight in New York. A win by Cleveland advances them to the American League Championship Series.

Also today, the National League Division Series resume, as Washington travels to Wrigley Field to face the Cubs in game three with the series tied at one game apiece. Meanwhile, Los Angeles takes a 2-0 series lead into Arizona where the Dodgers can sweep the best of five series with a win.

Men’s College Golf:

Marian sits in third place after the first round of the NACC Championship at Whistling Straits. The Sabres shot a 322 as a team with Freshmen Maxwell Dye and Christian Taylor each sitting tied for 10th with an opening round 78. The second round of the tournament is being held today.
