National League:


Milwaukee 4, Atlanta 3

--Domingo Santana went 2 for 4 with two home runs and four RBI as the Brewers salvaged one game from the Braves in their three game weekend series at Miller Park. Matt Garza picked up his first win of the year, going 6 & ⅔ innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out seven. Neftali Feliz earned his sixth save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning. The Brewers close the month of April with a 13-13 record and open May with a seven game road trip. The first four games are in St. Louis and series opener is tonight, coverage begins at 6:40 on KFIZ.

Miami 10, Pittsburgh 3


The great performance of the day Sunday in the major leagues belonged to the Nationals’ Anthony Rendon. He went six for six at the plate with three home runs and 10 RBI as the Nationals routed the Mets 23 to 5 in Washington DC.

Wisconsin at Burlington (Postponed)

--The Rattlers and Bees are postponed for a third straight day due to rain. The teams will play two doubleheaders as part of their next series in Burlington in mid-June. Wisconsin is off today and opens a series against Bowling Green on Tuesday.


NBA:


Boston 123, Washington 111

--Isaiah Thomas scored 33 points, Jae Crowder added 24 as the Celtics defeated Washington in game one of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series in Boston. Bradley Beal had 27 points, John Wall 20 points and 16 assists in the loss for the Wizards. Game two is Tuesday in Boston.


Utah 104, LA Clippers 91

--Gordon Hayward scored 26 points as the Jazz dominated the Clippers in game seven of their Western Conference first round series to advance to the west semifinals. DeAndre Jordan had 24 points and 17 rebounds in the loss for Los Angeles. Utah advances to face top-seed Golden State in the conference semifinals, Game one is Tuesday


NASCAR: Joey Logano held off teammate Brad Keselowski to win yesterday's Monster Energy Cup race at Richmond. Logano pulled away after a restart with about 20 laps to go and earned the victory despite starting 37th due to a transmission change. Denny Hamlin was third, followed by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kevin Harvick.
