–Fondy suffers their first loss of the year, now 16-1.

 

Congratulations to the Fondy Post 75 17U legion team for winning the Wausau Tournament with a 8-3 win over West De Pere in Sunday’s championship game.

–Brandon Wulff went 3 for 4 with a home run in the win for Fondy, as the Dock Spiders totaled 16 hits against the Rafters.

–Collin Ridout went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI in the win as the Dock Spiders swept Wisconsin Rapids in their Sunday doubleheader. Fondy travels to Green Bay for a 6:35 pm first pitch tonight.

–The Marlins pounded out 17 hits against the Brewers as they avoided the sweep at Miller Park in their weekend series. Eric Thames and Orlando Arica hit home runs in the loss for the Brewers, who saw starter Junior Guerra struggle again. Guerra surrendered four runs on eight hits in just four innings of work. The Brewers open a three game series with Baltimore today at Miller Park, coverage begins at 12:35 pm, first pitch 1:10 on KFIZ.

Brewers closer Corey Knebel was named to the National League roster for the upcoming All-Star game in Miami. Knebel was the lone Brewers player named to the midsummer classic. He sports a 1.13 earned run average with 68 strikeouts and 13 saves to his name since moving into the closer role in the Brewers’ bullpen.
