Milwaukee 3, LA Dodgers 2

–Domingo Santana went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Hernan Perez homered as the Brewers won Sunday in Los Angeles to take two of three in the series and finish 5-4 on their nine-game road trip. It was the Dodgers first series loss since early June and the win puts the Brewers within two games of the division-leading Cubs. Jimmy Nelson earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out six in six and ⅔ innings. Corey Knebel earned his 29th save of the year to close out the game. Milwaukee is off today and opens a short two-game series with St. Louis on Tuesday.

–Mike Glennon and Mitchell Trubisky each threw touchdown passes in the win for the Bears.

Minnesota 32, San Francisco 31

–Case Keenum threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns as the Vikings rallied to defeat the 49ers in Minneapolis.

Golf:  

Dustin Johnson stormed back from a five-shot deficit on the front nine and beat Jordan Spieth in a playoff at The Northern Trust. Johnson won it with a birdie on the first playoff hole to claim the opening FedEx Cup playoff event. Spieth began the round with a three-stroke lead before shooting a 1-under 69 that left him 13 under for the tournament. Johnson closed with a 66.

 

Jerry Kelly fired a 6-under 66 for a one-stroke victory over Jerry Smith at the Boeing Classic in Washington. Kelly had a tournament-record 19-under 197 total in earning his first PGA Tour Champions title. He moved ahead with a 15-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th.
