Brewers

Menasha native Eric Hinske took Brewers closer John Axford deep for a 2-run homer in the 11th inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks swept the Brewers with an 8-7 win in 11 innings on Sunday at Miller Park. That was the Brewers 5th straight loss.  The Brewers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings.  In the 11th Milwaukee had the tying run at 3rd but were forced to send Kyle Lohse to the plate as a pinch hitter with no position players available. He struck out. Alex Gonzalez homered for the first time and Nori Aoki went 4×6 in a losing effort. Yovani Gallardo gave up four runs and 9 hits in six innings of work.  The Brewers open up a three game set at Wrigley Field this afternoon.  Marco Estrada will take on Edwin Jackson.  Coverage begins at 12:45pm on KFIZ.

Segura Hurt

Shortstop Jean Segura can be added to the mounting list of Brewers injuries.  He hurt his quad in the 3rd innings after Gerrardo Parra slid hard into 2nd base.  He left in the 4th.  The Brewers say he’s day to day.  Ryan Braun also say out his 3rd straight game with neck spasms and Aramis Ramierez went on the DL over the weekend with a knee injury.
