The Packers returned to the practice field on Sunday and began preparations for preseason game number two on Thursday against Oakland..Backup quarterback Brett Hundley returned to practice on Sunday after battling an ankle injury, he says he’s ready to return to game action. Wide Receiver Jared Abbrederis said he’s had a good offseason and has been playing and practicing with confidence since the start of training camp. Pregame for the Packers and Raiders is 5pm, with kickoff at 7pm Thursday on KFIZ.


The Packers have signed center Kyle Steuck (STOOCK) to their roster and placed long snapper Jesse Schmitt on injured reserve, the team announced on Sunday. The 6-2, 310 pound Steuck played collegiately at Northern Michigan University and attended West De Pere High School. Steuck adds depth at center and on the offensive line with Corey Linsley on the Physically Unable to Perform list.


Ryan Braun went three for four with two home runs and six RBI in the Brewers 7-3 win over Cincinnati in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Miller Park. Milwaukee scored six of their seven runs in the first two innings, chasing Reds starter Cody Reed after just one inning. Braun hit a two-run double in the 1st inning and scored later in the frame when Jake Elmore was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Braun later smashed a two run home run in the 2nd and a solo home run in the fourth. Willy Peralta picked up the win, he’s 5-8 now on the year. The Brewers are off today and have a day-night doubleheader against the Cubs in Chicago on Tuesday. Game one at 12:20 pm, game two at 7:05 pm.

In the Olympics:

The U.S. men's basketball team won its game, beating France 100-97. The U.S. men have now had three straight close games, topping Australia 98-88 and squeaking by Serbia 94-91 before beating France. In the win over France Klay Thompson had 30 points.


The women's basketball team has completed group play unbeaten in five games. They beat China 105-62 as Tina Charles scored 12 of her 18 points in the first quarter. The Americans won their five group games by an average of 40.8 points, eclipsing the 100-point mark in four of them. Up next are the quarterfinals on Tuesday with a game against Japan. Three more victories would give the Americans a sixth consecutive gold medal.


On the golf course, Britain's Justin Rose and Sweden's Henrick Stenson dueled for the gold with Rose coming out on top. They were tied for first at 15-under after 17 holes and Rose, the winner of the 2013 U.S. Open, birdied the hole while Stenson had a bogey. American Matt Kuchar (KOO'-chur) finished third to win the bronze.


Outside of olympic Golf, Ryan Moore won the John Deere Classic on Sunday for his fifth PGA Tour title, closing with a 4-under 67 for a two-stroke victory over Ben Martin.

The 33-year-old Moore finished at 22-under 262 at TPC Deere Run, playing the final 46 holes without a bogey and making only one in 74 holes.Whee Kim of South Korea shot 67 to tie for third with Morgan Hoffmann (71) at 17 under.
