Packers Win

The Packers grinded out a 23-14 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field.  The Packers jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter as Aaron Rodgers hits James Jones on a 32 yard pass down the left sideline on the team’s first possession.  Then Mason Crosby banged home a 30 yard field goal.  The Viking rallied to take a 14-10 lead at the break with a pair of 2nd quarter TDs.  Kyle Rudolph caught a 7-yard pass from Christian Ponder and Adrian Peterson ran 82 yards for a score.  Mason Crosby made it 14-13 with a 47-yard field goal at the 7:47 mark of the 3rd quarter.  Green Bay then re-took the lead at the 2:12 mark of the 3rd with a 22 yard TD run.  Green Bay put the game away as Mason Crosby capped off an 18 play, 73 yard drive that took 11 minutes with a 31 yard field goal.  Aaron Rodgers was 27-35 for 286 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception.  James Starks ran for 66 yards and a TD.  Alex Green added 58 yards on the ground.  Adrian Peterson ran for 210 yards and a TD in the losing effort.  Morgan Burnett picked off Christian Ponder twice in the Red Zone, one of those was in the end zone.  Green Bay improves to 8-4 on the season and is now tied with Chicago on top of the NFC North.  Seattle beat the Bears 23-17 in OT  The Vikings drop to 6-6. Green Bay hosts Detroit next week on Sunday Night Football.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

 

Packer Injuries

The Packers had two more injuries to add to their mounting list on Sunday.  RT TJ Lang injured his ankle and was replaced by rookie Don Barclay.  WR Jordy Nelson tweaked his hamstring in warm-ups and aggravated it early in the game.  Both players will be evaluated today.

 

Rose Bowl Badgers

The Wisconsin Badgers are going to their 3rd straight Rose Bowl after beating Nebraska 70-31 on Saturday night in the Big 10 Championship Game.  UW will play Stanford on January 1st in Pasadena. 

 

Badgers Hammer Cal

The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team thumped California 81-56 at the Kohl Center on Sunday night.  Ben Brust led UW with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  UW improves to 5-3 on the season.  They will host Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday night. 

 

Bucks Basketball

The Bucks travel to New Orleans tonight.  You’ll hear the game on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 6:40pm with the tip set for 7pm.
