We’ve got high school boys basketball tonight on KFIZ as Fond du Lac heads to Appleton
East in a make-up game.  Coverage begins
at 7:05pm with The Backyard Grill Pregame Show.  The tip is set for 7:30pm.

 

The WIAA Boys Hockey Tournament kicks off on Tuesday
night.  St. Mary’s Springs is a #5 seed
and will host Grafton at the Blueline
Family Ice
Center
in a first round
matchup.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk
1450 KFIZ presented by BCI Burke Company. 
They will drop the puck at 7:30pm. 
The playoffs on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ are presented by Taco Bell.  A win by the Ledgers would match them up with
4th seeded Fond du Lac
on Thursday night.   Waupun is a #7 seed
and hosts Sheboygan
on Tuesday night.  The Fondy-Waupun girls
hockey team hosts Fox Cities Thursday night at 5pm in their playoff opener.

 

The Badger men’s basketball team picked up a huge 75-62 win
over Michigan at Ann Arbor on Sunday afternoon.  Frank Kaminsky scored 25 points and pulled
down 11 rebounds, Sam Dekker added 15 and Josh Gasser 13 in the win.  UW committed just 2 turnovers for the game.  Wisconsin
travels to Iowa
on Saturday.

Racing on the pole for next weekend’s Dayton
500.   Martin Truex, Junior qualified 2nd
for the Great American Race which will run next Sunday.

 

At the Olympics, the United
States
cruised by Slovakia 5-1 to secure the #2 seed
in the knockout round.  Team USA will play
the winner of the Czech Republic/Slovakia match in the quarterfinals on
Wednesday.  Sweden
is the #1 seed, Canada is
the #3 seed while Finland
is #4 seed.  Host Russia ends up with a #5 seed and must beat Norway to face off with Finland in the
quarterfinals.
