The Badger men’s basketball
team stopped Michigan 68-57 in their final
game at the Kohl Center on Sunday night. Bronson Koenig
had 19 and Nigel Hayes 16 in the win. 
The Badgers are now tied for 2nd in the Big Ten and travel to
Minnesota on
Wednesday night.

The Bucks host the Houston
Rockets tonight at BMO
Harris Bradley

. Coverage begins
at 6:40pm on KFIZ.  The Bucks will be
without Steve Novak for the rest of the season. 
He sprained his left knee late in Saturday night’s loss to Boston.

 

Jimmie Johnson won the NASCAR
Sprint Cup race at Atlanta
on Sunday.  Dale Earnhardt, Junior was 2nd.  The win was Johnson’s 76th, which
tied him with Dale Earnhardt.  Only six
drivers have won more.  Matt Kenseth was
19th

 

Adam Scott won the Honda
Classic on the PGA Tour by one shot over Sergio Garcia.  Scott finished at -9 for the event.

 

The Brewers open up Cactus
League play on Thursday with a pair of split squad games.  We’ll broadcast Brewers and Giants on
Thursday on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Laconia and Waupun are the lone area schools still alive
through the Regionals of the WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament.  Laconia
defeated Poynette in the Regional Final on Saturday 74-58 while Waupun took
down Lomira 37-28.  The Spartans and
Warriors will meet in the Division Three Sectional on Thursday night in Beaver
Dam. 

 

The WIAA Boys Regional
Basketball Tournament begins on Tuesday.

 

The area was well represented
at the WIAA State Individual State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend.  In Division One, Fond du Lac’s Josh Adams was 3rd
at 145 while Dante Johnson took 4th at 285.  In Division 2, Lomira’s Jordan Michael won
the state championship at 170.  In
Division Three, Laconia’s
Zach Coffeen was state runner-up at 160 and Alec Potter was 3rd at
126. 

 

Waupun’s boys hockey team’s
season ended in the Sectional Final on Saturday night at the Blue Line, falling
to University School 6-3.  The state hockey tournament starts on
Thursday in Madison
