The Seattle Seahawks dominated the
Denver Broncos 43-8 at Super Bowl 48 in New
Jersey
on Sunday night.  Things went south for Denver on the first snap of the game as the
snap zinged over Peyton Manning’s head into the end zone for a safety.  The Seahawks raced out to a 38-0 lead helped out
by LB Malcolm Smith’s 69 yard interception return for a TD and  Percy Harvin’s 87 yard kickoff return for a TD
to open the 2nd half.  Russell
Wilson threw for 206 yards and 2 TDs for Seattle
while Manning, the league MVP threw for 280 yards, 1 TD and 2
interceptions.  A Super Bowl record 13
passes were caught by Denver’s
Demaryius Thomas.    Smith became just the 3rd linebacker
to be named MVP of the game.

Packers running back Eddie Lacy was
named the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday night at the NFL
Honors awards ceremony.  Aaron Rodgers
late TD pass to Randall Cobb against the Chicago Bears was named the “Never Say
Die Moment of the Year.”

Kevin Stadler won the Phoenix Open by
one shot over a pair of golfer including Bubba Watson.  Stadler was -16 for the event and earns a
trip to The Masters.  His father Craig
won the Masters back in the 1980s so they will be just the 9th father-son
combo to play in the same Masters Tournament.
