For the 4th time
in franchise history, the Pittsburgh Penguins have won the NHL’s Stanley
Cup.  The Penguins closed out hockey’s
championship series with a 3-1 win over San
Jose
on Sunday night. 
Pittsburgh
wins the best of seven series 4 games to 2.

 

The Brewers earned a series
split with the New York Mets with a 5-3 win at Miller Park
on Sunday afternoon.  Zach Davies gave up
just 1 run and 3 hits in six innings to pick up the win.  At one point, Davies retired 17 straight
Mets.  The Brewers open up a three game
set in San Francisco
tonight. Coverage begins at 8:40am.

 

The Brewers optioned Wily
Peralta to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday. 
Peralta won his start on Saturday, but has struggled this season,
despite being the opening day starter. 
Matt Garza will return the rotation and start against the Giants later
this week.

The Golden
State Warriors can win back to back NBA championships tonight as they host
Cleveland.  The Warriors lead the best of
seven series 3-1.

 

Daniel
Berger won the St. Jude Classic on the PGA Tour on Sunday at -13.   That was good for a three shot win over
three golfers including Wisconsin native Steve
Stricker.  The 2nd place finish
for Stricker, earned him a spot in the British Open.

 

Joey
Logano won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan
on Sunday.   Chase Elliot was 2nd.  Matt Kenseth was 14th and Paul
Menard 18th.

 

The
Laconia Spartan softball team rallied from two runs down to win the WIAA
Division Three State Softball Championship on Saturday afternoon I Madison.  The Spartans scored 1 run in the 4th
and two more in the 5th to beat Grantsburg 3-2.  The win completed a perfect 29-0 season for Laconia and a run to back
to back state titles.
