Brewers

Brian McCann hit a grand slam in the 1st and Chris Johnson and Jordan Schafer added solo homers as the Braves beat the Brewers 7-4 on Sunday at Miller Park.  Alfredo Figaro gave up 9 hits and 6 runs in three and a third innings to get hung with the loss.  Logan Schafer had a two run single and Jonathan Lucroy hit a two run homer in the 5th for the Crew but that wasn’t enough.  Milwaukee takes today off before opening up a three game set with the Cubs at Miller Park on Tuesday night.

 

Gomez Hurt

Brewers centerfielder Carlos Gomez injured his shoulder making a catch in the fourth inning in deep center field.  Manager Ron Roenicke says Gomez will be looked at today to see how series the injury is.  Initial reports say he didn’t break any bones.

 

Brewers Rehab

Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada gave up 8 hits and 6 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work in a rehab assignment with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday.  Estrada says his injured hamstring still has issues.  Hiram Burgos gave up 1 hits in one inning of work in a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville.

 

Stanley Cup Finals

It’s Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight as Boston hosts Chicago.  It’s a must win for the Bruins as they trail the best of seven series 3 games to 2.

 

Rivers On The Move

Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for a 2015 first round draft pick.  The Celtics are going into a rebuilding mode, which Rivers didn’t want to be a part of and the Clippers hope signing Rivers can help them keep point guard Chris Paul with the franchise.

 

NASCAR

Martin Truex snapped a 218 race winless streak with a win at Sonoma on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  Jeff Gordon was 2nd and Carl Edwards was 3rd. Paul Menard was 14th and Matt Kenseth 19th

 

PGA

44-year-old Ken Duke won for the first time on the PGA Tour with a win at the Traveler’s Championship.  Duke beat Chris Stroud with a birdie on the 2nd playoff hole.
