Packers Back To Work

The Packers get back on the practice field today after taking a week off.  Green Bay will travel to Detroit next Sunday for an NFC North matchup with the Lions.  That’s a 12noon kickoff.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

Badger In Big Ten Title Game

With their 62-14 win over Indiana on Saturday, Wisconsin will represent the Big Ten Leaders Division in the Big Ten Championship Game on December 1st in Indianapolis.  With Ohio State and Penn State ineligible for the postseason, UW clinched the best record of the remaining teams in the division. The Badgers host Ohio State this Saturday at Camp Randall.  The kickoff is set for 2:30pm.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

 

St. Mary’s Springs In Finals

The St. Mary’s Springs football team gets back on the practice field today as they get ready for the WIAA Division Six State Championship Game against Eau Claire Regis on Thursday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.   The Ledgers blew by Iowa-Grant 54-14 on Saturday in Middleton to punch there ticket to state.  Thursday’s title game kicks off at 1pm with the Backyard Grill Pregame Show set for 12:05pm on KFIZ.     If you want to buy your tickets in advance for the championship you game you do so at St. Mary’s Springs for $8.00

 

UW-Oshkosh Playoff Game Set

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host St. Scholastica in the first round of the NCAA Division Three Football Playoffs on Saturday at 12noon on JJ Keller Field at Titan Stadium.  It’s the first every football playoff appearance for the 10-0 Titans.

 

Badger Hoopsters Roll

Bo Ryan’s Badger men’s basketball team cruised by Southeastern Louisiana 87-47 at the Kohl Center on Sunday afternoon.  Jared Berggren had 19 points and Ben Brust added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the win.  Wisconsin will play at Florida on Wednesday night.

 

Golden Eagles Win

Just two days after having their game with Ohio State on an air craft carrier cancelled because of condensation on the court, Marquette finally got to play a game, beating Colgate 84-63 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  Jamil Wilson had 15 points and Davante Gardner 14 to pace the Golden Eagles.

 

UWM Loses

South Carolina beat UW-Milwaukee 82-75 in OT on Sunday.  Jordan Aaron led Milwaukee with 28 points.

 

Bucks Basketball on KFIZ

The Bucks are on the road tonight for a matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 5:40pm with the tip set for 6pm.

 

Lakers Hire D’Antoni

The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Mike D’Antoni as their new head coach.  Rumors were swirling that Phil Jackson would be making his return to LA but the Lakers went in a different direction to replace Mike Brown who was fired after a 1-4 start.

 

Keselowski Takes Chase Lead…Brawl Takes Spotlight

Kevin Harvick won the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix, but Brad Keselowski was the real winner, moving into first place in the Chase For the Championship with his 6th place finish by 20 points over Jimmie Johnson who finished 32nd.  The story of the day was the wild post race brawl between the crews of Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon after Gordon wrecked Bowyer late, ending his slim championship hopes.
