Aaron Rodgers threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns and the Packers held off the New York Giants 23-16 at Lambeau Field on Sunday night Rodgers connected with Jordy Nelson on a 6 yard touchdown pass for the game’s first score, capping off a 16 play, 75 yard drive that chewed up the first 8:42 of the game. Rodgers then connected with Davante Adams from 29 yards out with 6:01 left before halftime, and Mason Crosby connected on a 44 yard field goal to end the 1st half and give the Packers a 17-6 lead at halftime. Two more Mason Crosby field goals in the fourth quarter extended the lead to 23-9, before Eli Manning connected with Odell Beckham Jr. for an 8 yard touchdown with 2:54 left to make it a one score game. The Packers sealed the win with a 13 yard pass from Rodgers to Randall Cobb on 3rd & 10 with 2:30 left in the game. Cobb had 9 catches for 81 yards to lead the Packers, Eddie Lacy rushed 11 times for 81 yards

Packers are 3-1 and will host Dallas on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the NFC North..

The Vikings improved to 5-0 with a 31-13 win over the Houston Texans at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Sam Bradford threw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win. Minnesota heads into their bye week next week.

The Lions handed the Eagles their first loss of the season with a 24-23 win at Ford Field in Detroit. Matt Prater hit a 29 yard field goal with 1:29 to play in the game to put the Lions ahead, then Darius Slay intercepted a Carson Wentz pass on the Eagles’ ensuing drive to seal the win. Detroit improves to 2-3, and will host Los Angeles next Sunday.

The Bears let a 4th quarter lead slip away in a 29-23 loss to the Colts in Indianapolis. Chicago rookie Jordan Howard gave the Bears a 23-19 lead with 7:04 to play on a touchdown reception from Brian Hoyer. The Colts answered with a 35 yard touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton with 3:43 left and added a 46 yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri field goal with 2:28 left. Chicago is now 1-4, they’ll host Jacksonville next Sunday.

Baseball

American League Division Series:

Game three between Cleveland and Boston was postponed to Monday due to rain. The Indians lead the series 2-0.

Toronto 7, Texas 6 (10 Innings). Toronto sweeps the best of 5 series 3-0, advances to the American League Championship Series.

National League Division Series:

Washington 5, LA Dodgers 2. Series is tied 1-1. Game 3 is this afternoon in Washington.

Jimmie Johnson advanced into the third round of NASCAR’s playoffs with a much-needed victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The win Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway puts the six-time champion into the round of eight for the first time since the elimination format began in 2014. It is just Johnson’s third win of the season, and it came on a day when almost half of the Chase for the championship field had an issue. Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick both had engine issues. Austin Dillon and Chase Elliott were in accidents. Joey Logano had tire problems, and Martin Truex Jr. had an electrical issue as he left pit road after the final pit stop. Five Chase drivers finished lower than 30th and Harvick is last in the championship standings
