Sports – Monday, October 6th, 2014

After taking the weekend off
the Packers get back to work today in preparation for a trip to Miami on Sunday. The
Dolphins sit at 2-2 after having a bye in week 5.  Sunday’s game kicks off at noon.  Talk Packer football tonight from 6pm to 7pm
on KFIZ with In The Huddle hosted by TJ Lange and David Bakhtiari. 

 

The Packers find them selves
tied for 1st place in the NFC North after a wild Sunday that found
numerous games going down to the wire. 
The Bills rallied to 17-14 win at Detroit  on a Dan Carpenter 58 yard field goal with :17
seconds left. The Bears blew a big lead and lost to Carolina 31-24.  That leaves Green Bay
and Detroit
tied with a 3-2 mark on top of the division. 
The Bears and Vikings are 2-3.

 

Tonight on Monday Night
Football, the Redskins host the Seahawks. Coverage begins at 7pm on KFIZ.

 

After losing to Northwestern
on Saturday, Wisconsin
has dropped out of both college football poll. 
Florida State
remains #1 and Auburn
jumps up to #2 in both the A.P. and Coaches Poll.  Wisconsin
will host Illinois
next Saturday at 11am.  You’ll hear it on
KFIZ.

 

The Kansas City Royals and
Baltimore Orioles punched their tickets to the American League Championship
Series by completing Division Series 3 game sweeps on Sunday.    Baltimore
beat Detroit
2-1 and the Royals took care of the Angels 8-3. 
The ALCS begins on Friday in Baltimore.

 

The National League Division
Series continue today as the Giants host the Nationals at 4:07pm central and
the Cardinals host the Dodgers at 8:07pm central. 

 

Joey Lagano won the NASCAR
Sprint Cup race at Kansas
on Sunday.  Kyle Larson was 2nd
and Kyle Busch was 3rd
