The Brewers were blown out by
the San Francisco Giants 15-5 on Sunday.  Kyle Lohse got roughed up for 7 runs and 9
hits in five and two thirds innings of work.  
The bullpen gave up 8 more runs as the Brewers dropped into a first
place tie with St. Louis
in the National League Central.  The
Brewers open up a series with the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Monday

The Milwaukee Brewers have
acquired right-handed reliever Jonathan Broxton from the Cincinnati Reds in
exchange  for two players to be named.
Broxton, who is eligible for the Brewers’ postseason roster, will join the team
tomorrow in Chicago.
The announcement  was made by President
of Baseball Operations and General Manager Doug Melvin. Broxton, 30, is 4-2
with a 1.86 ERA and 7 saves in 51 appearances this season. Opponents are
batting just .190 (32-for-168, 3hr). He has pitched for Los
Angeles
(2005-11), Kansas City
(2012) and Cincinnati
(2012-14) during his 10-year career, going 35-29 with a 3.05 ERA and 118  saves in 531 appearances, all in relief.

 

The Packers have set their
depth chart for the season opening game at Seattle on Thursday.  Mike McCarthy has named Matt Flynn the #2
quarterback with Scott Tolzien as #3.  Rookie Corey Linsley will get the start at
center.  Sunday’s game in Seattle kicks off at
7:30pm.  Coverage begins at 5pm on

The Green Bay Packers have signed 10 players to the
practice squad. The transactions were announced Sunday by Executive Vice
President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.  Signed to the practice squad were S Chris Banjo, WR Kevin Dorsey,
C Garth Gerhart, WR Alex Gillett, RB Michael
Hill
, LB Adrian Hubbard,
TE Justin Perillo, DELuther
Robinson
, T Jeremy
Vujnovich
 and WR Myles White. All 10 signees to
the practice squad were with the Packers during the 2014 preseason.
