High school football coverage continues tonight on KFIZ. St. Mary’s Springs hosts Shiocton from Fruth Field. Tim Cruz American Family Insurance Agency pregame show at 6:30, kickoff at 7pm on News/Talk 1450. 

A ninth-inning rally fell short for the Brewers in a 7-6 loss to Seattle Friday night. Chris Carter, Jonathan Villar and Keon Broxton all homered for the Brewers. Brent Suter took the loss in his major league debut for Milwaukee, he went 4 & 1/3 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits. Game 2 of the series is tonight, no game on KFIZ due to high school football coverage. 

Klay Thompson scored 22 points and the U.S. men’s basketball team advanced to the gold-medal game by beating Spain 82-76. Kevin Durant added 14 points and Kyrie Irving had 13 for the Americans, while Pau Gasol scored 23 points for Spain. The Yanks will take on Serbia for gold on Sunday.

Carl Edwards has won the pole for tonight’s Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Edwards had a top lap of 131.407 mph on the half-mile track in the final segment of the three-round knockout qualifying. Edwards teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were the next two fastest qualifiers.

In Golf, Si Woo Kim is the leader midway through the Wyndham Championship at Greensboro, NC. Kim set a tournament record with a 10-under 60 for a 12 under total. He’s two strokes ahead of Kevin Na, Hideki Matsuyama, Lucas Glover and Jim Fuytk
