Cavs Rally Past Bucks

Kyrie Irving scored 35 points as the Caves stopped the Bucks 113-108 on Friday night in Cleveland.  The Bucks led by as many as 20 in the 3rd quarter but couldn’t hang on.  Ersan Ilyasova had a season high 30 for the Bucks while Monta Ellis added 21.  The loss snaps a 3 game win streak for Milwaukee. The Bucks host Golden State tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  Coverage begins at 7:10pm on KFIZ.

 

Phoenix Down Panthers

UW-Green Bay picked up their first road win in the Horizon League with a 74-54 win at UW-Milwaukee.

 

Badgers Host Gophers

The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team looks to snap a 2 game Big Ten losing streak this afternoon as they host Minnesota at the Kohl Center.  Coverage begins at Noon with the tip set for 1pm.

Pro Bowl

The NFL Pro Bowl is set for Sunday night in Hawaii. Packers center Jeff Saturday and guard Josh Sitton will be suiting up for the NFC squad.  Mike McCarthy and the Packers coaching staff is leading the NFC.   Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews both made the NFC team but will not play because of injury.  Coverage of the Pro Bowl begins at 6pm Sunday night on KFIZ.  CBS has also hired Clay Matthews to offer pregame analysis for their Super Bowl Coverage.

 

Saturday Retires

Packers center Jeff Saturday announced on Friday that this would be his last NFL season.   Saturday played the first 13 seasons of his 14 year career with the Colts and this past season with the Packers. Despite being benched at the end of the year he is playing in his 6th Pro Bowl on Sunday.

 

Hart Has Surgery

Brewers 1B Corey Hart had knee surgery on Friday.  Team officials say that he will miss up to four months of action and they hope to have him back by the end of May.  Mat Gamel will be given the first chance to start at 1B has Hart recovers.

 

Brewers Sign Seven

The Brewers signed seven players to one-year deals on Friday.  Infielders Taylor Green and Scooter Gennett, outfielders Khris Davis and Josh Prince, Catcher Martin Maldonado, and pitchers Nick Bucci and Jim Henderson all inked deals.  That leaves Milwaukee with 25 players on their 40 man roster signed.
