The Marian men’s basketball team nearly shocked the college
basketball world in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament.  The Sabres Jeff Harris rimmed out a
three-pointer at the buzzer and fell to #1 ranked UW-Stevens Point 66-64 on
Friday night. Marian led by as many as 11 points in the first half and to a 35-30
into the half.  Cody Velke led the way
with 18 points.  The Sabres season ends
at 22-7.  UW-Stevens Point is 27-1.

Marquette wraps up their regular season this
afternoon as they host St. Johns at BMO Harris
Bradley Center
.   The Golden Eagles would have to win the Big
East Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament this year.  The Badgers wrap up their regular season on
Sunday night against Nebraska.  A win by the Badgers gets them the #2 seed in
the Big Ten Tournament.

The Brewers lost to San
Diego
6-2 on Friday in Cactus League action. Scooter
Gennett hit a two run homer for Milwaukee.  Matt Garza gave up six hits and three runs in
three innings of work.   The Brewers play the Royals this
afternoon.  Coverage begins at 1:55pm on

The Badger football team began spring practice this week with lots
of new faces on both sides of the ball.  Wisconsin’s annual
Spring Game is set for April 12th.

 

St. Mary’s Springs rolled by Howards Grove 59-38 in their Regional
Semifinal on Friday night at the Hutter Gym. 
Kelli Schrauth had 23 and Melanie Schneider 17 for the Ledgers as they
improve to 19-3.  The Ledgers host Lake
Country Lutheran tonight.  You’ll hear it
on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm with the
Backyard Grill Pregame Show.  The tip is
set for 7pm.  It’s presented by BCI Burke
