Kyle Lohse gave up 4 earned runs on 11 hits in a 5 innings as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 6-1 on Friday night at Miller Park. Jonathan Lucroy drove in the Brewers only run. Aramis Ramirez picked up a couple of hits in his return from a knee injury. Yovani Gallardo takes on Adam Wainwright in game three of the series this afternoon. WAUKESHA, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – Emilie Jansen(Kaukauna, Wis.) earned First Team All-Northern Athletics Conference honors for the second year in a row as the 2013 NAC Softball Postseason awards were announced by the league office, Thursday, May 2. Freshman Emily Gorges (New London, Wis.) was honored to the All-Freshman team after an outstanding season in the circle for the Sabres. Jansen was one of six repeat first-teamers from a season ago and finished her career with All-NAC mention in three of her four years in the Blue and White. The Kaukauna native wrapped up an illustrious career with Marian, becoming the only player in school history with 25 doubles, 10 triples and 16 home runs. Her six triples in 2013 led the league. She tied the Marian record for the most games played with 156, starting every single one of those. She was also second in home runs and at-bats (518), third in RBI (105), fourth in triples and fifth in total bases (153). Jansen led the Sabres this season in batting average (.342), hits (39), triples, home runs (3), RBI (28), on-base (.403) and slugging percentage (.579). Gorges showed to be one of the hardest throwing pitchers in the NAC as a freshman. In her first season with the Sabres, the New London native led the NAC with 171.2 innings pitched and struck out 123 batters, which ranked third in the league.
