Saturday’s High School Results:

Girls Volleyball:

Fond du Lac won the Madison East Invite with wins over Waukesha North, Hartford, Beloit Memorial, Madison East and another win over Hartford in the Championship Match. Monica Dreifuerst totaled 36 kills and 10 aces, Ava Tryon had 33 kills, Megan Wendt added 21 kills. Maggie Stellmacher had 45 digs, while Emily Thompson added 109 assists.

Laconia went 2-2 at the Brillion Tournament with wins over Port Washington and Coleman and losses to Brillion and Southern Door. Hailey Bartz had 51 assists to go along with 5 aces. Taylor VandeBerg had 20 kills, Jenn Beatie had 25 digs, Alissa Dins and Sydney Dahlke each had 10 blocks.

Central Wisconsin Christian finished in second place at the Trailways Conference Tournament. The Crusaders defeated Cambria, Fall River and Markesan to advance to the Championship Game. In the title match, the Crusaders fell to Oshkosh Lourdes 2-1 (25-15, 22-25, 12-15).

Wisconsin 38, Nebraska 17

–Jonathan Taylor ran for 249 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns as the Badgers won over the Cornhuskers in Lincoln. Wisconsin put the Huskers away with 21 unanswered points after a Nebraska pick-six with 10:43 left to play in the 3rd quarter tied the game at 17. Wisconsin totaled 355 yards rushing in the game, as they improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Badgers host Purdue next Saturday.
