NFL Preseason:

Green Bay 21, Washington 17

–Taysom Hill’s 23 yard touchdown run with 6:16 left in the 4th quarter was the difference as the Packers defeated the Redskins in preseason action on Saturday. Aaron Rodgers started the game and finished his only series in the first quarter with a touchdown pass to Martellus Bennett. Backup quarterback Brett Hundley went 9 of 10 through the air for 107 yards and a touchdown to rookie Aaron Jones. The Packers travel to Denver for their third preseason game next Saturday.

Chicago 24, Arizona 23

–Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for 60 yards and a touchdown in the win. Arizona scored with nine seconds left in the game, but a two-point conversion try to win the game was incomplete for the Bears to hold on.

Detroit 16, NY Jets 6

–Matthew Stafford threw for 84 yards and a touchdown to Marvin Jones in the win for Detroit

Major League Baseball:

National League:

Milwaukee 6, Colorado 3

–A two-run home run from Jesus Aguilar in the top of the ninth inning helped the Brewers take game two of their weekend series in Colorado against the Rockies. Milwaukee led 3-1 entering the 7th, when RBI singles from Charlie Blackmon and DJ LeMahieu for the Rockies tied the game at three. An RBI single from Neil Walker added an insurance run in the ninth after Aguilar’s home run. Anthony Swarzak earned the win in relief, he’s 2-0. Corey Knebel picked up his 25th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning. The final game of the series is this afternoon, Chase Anderson returns to the Brewers rotation and will get the start, he faces off against Kyle Freeland for the Rockies.
