Harrell Cut

The Packers have cut quarterback Graham Harrell after his struggles to move the football with the first unit in Friday night’s preseason loss to Seattle.  That paves the way for veteran Vince Young to win the Packers backup QB spot.  The team must cut down to 75 players by Tuesday.  The Packers final preseason game is Thursday night in Kansas City.  Coverage begins at 5pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  The kickoff is set for 7pm.

 

Brewers Lose

The Reds rallied past the Brewers 6-3 on Saturday night.  John Axford gave up three runs in one inning of work to get hung with the loss.  Wily Peralta gave up just 1 run and seven hits in 5 innings but gets the no decision.  Caleb Gindl homered in the loss.  The series wraps up today.  Coverage begins at 11:35am on KFIZ.

 

Kenseth Wins

Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth clinched a spot on the Chase For the Championship with a win at Bristol on Saturday night.  It was Kenseth’s 5th Sprint Cup win of the season.  Kasey Kahne was 2nd.

Boys Soccer

Fond du Lac won two matches at the Monroe Quad.  The Cardinals stopped Richland Center 8-1 as Allan Unger scored a pair of goals.  Fondy then beat Monroe 5-3 in the championship game.  Brock Lisowe and Conner Reams each had a pair of goals.  Fondy is 3-2 on the season.

 

Girls Tennis

Fond du Lac went 0-3 at the Beaver Dam Invite.  Falling to Eau Claire Memorial, Oak Creek, and Beaver Dam.

 

Girls Swimming

The Fond du Lac girls swimming team competed at the DeForest Norski Invite on Saturday.
