04-Aug-2013

A Family Night record 63,047 fans turned out to Lambeau Field to watch the annual Family Night Scrimmage.  Aaron Rodgers played just the first series of full contact plays and hit DJ Williams on a yard TD pass before taking the rest of the night off.  BJ Coleman took a ton of reps with the first unit but threw two interceptions.  One was returned 66 yards for a touchdown by James Nixon.  The other interception was in the end zone by Brandon Smith.  Rookie running back Eddie Lacy has a strong showing at running back for Green Bay on Saturday night.  Kicker Mason Crosby struggled on Saturday night.  The veteran kicker made just 3 of 8 field goals.  Giorgio Tevecchio connected on 6 of 7 attempts on the night.  The Packers will take Sunday off then have a closed practice on Monday.  The next public practice is Tuesday at 8:20am.  The Packers host Arizona on Friday night at Lambeau. You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Robinson Goes To Hall of Fame
Former Packer linebacker Dave Robinson became the 12th member of the Vince Lombardi era Green Bay Packers to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday night.  Robinson was 1st round pick by the Packers in 1963 and played 10 of his 12 NFL seasons in Titletown.

It was sad to see the FOR profit Michels Corp hold their summer employee picnic at Family night. Their employees makes more than enough money each year and could easily afford to take their family to a game anytime without taking thousands of $10 seats away from the hard working middle class who might otherwise never get to see the inside of Lambeau.
